Pastor Christina and Virgil Dawson
Virgil is from the Kwakwaka'wakw Nation of Village Island.
Christina is from the Nuu-chah-nulth Nation of Ahousaht on Flores Island.
Christina has been ordained under the Foursquare Gospel Church of Canada, and they are called to reach out and minister the gospel of salvation in the name of Jesus to the homeless on the DTES (Downtown East Side).
Christina was formerly the assistant pastor since 2015 and now the successor of Late Pastor Randy Barnetson of Street Church for 2 years, until the building burned down by arson in 2022.
It has been Christina’s vision since she was born again, to reach out to our Indigenous peoples for the purpose of reconciliation by the teaching of the scriptures.
Virgil and Christina have been married since November 07, 2004. Parents of 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and expecting one great- great grandchild on the way.
We are excited to partner with Christina and Virgil as they minister to the many homeless people of Downtown East Side. With your prayers and support, we can help equip them with the supplies and finances to continue with this vital ministry.
